THIS is the big one. Yes... that 27 FOOT POUNDS of stall torque is not a
mis-print. Tonegawa Seiko has made a fantastic rugged servo for those big
projects. Great for steering your model of the TITANIC! This servo has a
Diecast aluminum case with waterproofing down to 11 feet and RFI/EMI shielding.
Originally designed for RPV/UAV "muscles". Various versions are available
with different travel arcs, faster travel time at less torque and 24 VDC operation.
Standard lowest cost model is all 27 Ft/lbs, .9 secs, +_45 degrees and 12 VDC!
We recommend using this unit with a servo saver to avoid coupling mechanical shocks
to the gear train or overloading the motor. A servo saver can be a
calibrated torque coupling spring that yields under the 27 ft/lb limit
of the servo, or any common shaft alignment method that utilizes an
elastomer to transmit torque, or a torque limiting slip clutch, or the
best method, a breakaway clutch that has the added advantage of
restoring position like found at
zero-max.com.
Unlike model plane servos these units will self-destruct if
commanded move into a hard mechnical stop. Use a
self-resetting polyfuse from Raychem to avoid this.

To
get a bigger servo you'd have to build or buy separate mechanics and marry them to your
R/C set with our RBSA servo amplifier. |
